The best defense is not to click on links and not to download anything from members who have no reputation on the forum. What the forum should do is ban posting any links for newbies, or at least not allow them to be clickable.
Exactly. Clicking links is at your own risk not only on this forum but everywhere generally be it social media platforms , messaging platforms and even random emails which of course is used to phish people most of the time. We have to be very careful and some veteran members here do give good examples.
If you have any reason to open an embedded link on the forum you should at least preview it first plus avoiding newbie links is a good step too. Sometimes users could get carried away though.
