Kind of. When I bet I prefer a higher potential return than a higher certainty of winning but for a lower return. For example, playing red or black in roulette is very boring, and it's EV- anyway. If you are able to win money at skill games it's another matter. But for occasional gambling I prefer higher risk for higher potential return. And as LFC says you are much more likely than hitting the lottery.
