Real Madrid definitely suffered (not financially haha) because of the Club World Cup - Bellingham could have had shoulder surgery right after the end of the season, but he postponed it until after the Club World Cup, so he will miss the beginning of the season and that will be a significant number of games. Bellingham is a key player for Real so it is very painful - first they have to assemble a team without him, then rebuild again.
Barcelona have an advantage in that they have had more rest, but I think that maybe for some players (Yamal) it is worse - the more free time the more likely he will go the way of Neymar (partying)
