For those that regular gamble with a huge amount like $50 - $100 and more, they knows their income source better than I do, if they didn't have so much to spend, they wouldn't gamble with such huge amount.
That?s not really a huge amount if you?re in a country where the minimum wage is at least $20 per hour. But in places where people barely earn $20 a day, gambling within that range is basically financial suicide. That?s exactly what they mean by ?gambling more than you can afford to lose.? If this was in the Philippines, and someone is betting that much without actually earning it, chances are they?re already addicted, and sooner or later, they might even commit a crime just to feed the addiction.

It always depends on the context and the country; unfortunately, we can't easily judge. It also depends on each person's sensitivity; for me, it might be a small number, for someone else, it might be a lot.
The important thing in my opinion is to play as much as you are willing to lose.
