I agree with you. Money is making football soulless because when players leave a hard league like La Liga to go to Saudi Arabia just for the money, they won't have the motivation and difficulty of a hard league to keep growing and playing with their souls to be the best.
They take the bag and enjoy luxury while playing more casually. And if this wasn't the case, they would be going to Saudi Arabia even without demanding a $100 million or $200 million anual package.

is football not about money? you think the teams the players are playing for are just retaining players just because they like the players or just because the players are talented and young? the central thing about every sport is money and players have recognized that and that is the reason why they are not going after teams that will give them better pay as against staying in just popular teams. it is when you don't have money again that you will know that everything revolves around money.
if football was not about money, no African player will be playing in Europe in the first place, they will stay in their local leagues and develop their league rather than trying out some top global leagues even though it is tougher getting teams that will sign them in those clubs.
Many players choose better teams that pay less. See João Félix which accepted Barcelona even with a way lower sallary that he could get.
It's not 100% just money because some players want to keep growing to be the best players in the world. You can't win a Baloon D'or if you are stuck on a bad league just because they paid you millions.
