"It's good to learn from others, so you don't have to learn expensive lessons yourself"

I read this quote long ago, and I have been learning from others ever since  Grin

I know people irl who destroyed themselves/their families by gambling activities, there is this story of Mahabharta [1] where king Yudhisthira was led to ruins by gambling — so what saved you from doing stupid in gambling?

The last two parts describe the one vice and addiction of the virtuous king Yudhishthira – gambling. Shakuni, encouraged by Duryodhana, mocks Yudhishthira and tempts him into a game of dice. Yudhishthira bets everything and loses the game, leading to the eventual exile of the Pandavas.
Gambling should be considered as entertainment, but gambling should not be used as a means of earning money. Those who have taken gambling as a means of earning money have become addicted to gambling and have destroyed themselves/their families. Not only from the stories of Yudhishthi in India, I have seen many people who have destroyed themselves by gambling, not only themselves but also their families. Therefore, instead of considering gambling as a means of earning money, we should consider gambling as entertainment. If gambling is considered as entertainment, then it will be possible to enjoy gambling, besides gambling will push a person towards destruction.
