To be honest, I do not consider Chelsea as a favorite for the Champions League platform. It is true that Chelsea's squad is well built this season. But it is very difficult to perform well in the Champions League platform. It is not easy to survive in the competition against teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Munich, arsenal and l iverpool. Chelsea may have performed well against psg . But before the start of next season , it cannot be said for sure how strong chelsea's team is. Because there have been big changes in their squad.
Chelsea should not be considered favorite for winning the champions league because the fact that they won the club World Cup doesn’t make tell have it in the champions league, champions league is a whole different league with much competition and the kind of competition with the elite clubs will be tough for Chelsea. In champions league even small clubs shouldn’t be underrated and lifting the trophy would cost a lot, passing through the group stage might feels easy, then the round of 16 which is a tough stage but Chelsea might possibly go to the quarter or semis but reaching the finals and winning it is different. As we can see from inter Milan’s experience last season, they manage to reach the finals but PSG was really different in the game and they won it.
The champions league next season can be unpredictable because of alot of factors and so thinking Chelsea is favorite is really not a good one.
