I play also those free rolls when I see them like the NLH free rolls but usually I go with the daily crumb because that's early in the morning in my timezone. To be honest, despite that the prize is 10 - 20 chips, it's even a tougher game. But the good thing with those tables is that there is no buying back. Who ever are eliminated are done and out of the tournament already.

Freerolls with low rewards are played more for experience and practice and less for the rewards one can win, because it's mostly the case that freerolls only give a small amount as the winning prize, and that's not the worth the amount of time you spend on the tables if you are doing it only for it, but if you want to practice, and try some strategy or a pattern that you've been thinking about, freerolls are a great way to do it because entry is free, and you have nothing to lose.
Yes, that's with the free rolls. Don't expect with the prize of it but the enjoyment that it also gives because it allows everyone to join and also to stay longer depending on the strategies that you'll build there. When I am joining them, I see those familiar names that are also participants in the BSOP and the other past tournaments. They sure are an active swcpoker players and they're there everyday when I check who participated there. And even with some low ticket entrances, they're also a good way to practice until you start to join the higher ones.

In most free rolls you don't get to play against authentic poker players, but against those who know that in most of those offerings the only way to have a chance to end up in the prize money is to play far more all ins than they would usually do. If you consider that, it makes far less sense to play strong hands as you would normally play them. You want the chips to go into the middle as soon as you have a very strong hand in the very early stages of the event. It is more of a lottery than it is a poker game with players trying to read their opponents or make smart moves. It is no criticism, but it is how most people play those freerolls.
