I disagree. What Madrid needs most right now are midfielders. The midfielders they have right now are good, but they won't be able to do their jobs without the right profile to complement them in midfield.
If I were Madrid, I would sign two midfielders, even if it means breaking the bank to sign them. They need a defensive midfielder like Rodri, and they also need a central midfielder who will be a controller like Kroos. No matter how good your defence is, if your midfield is not solid, the defence will suffer like Madrid did.
