This is what makes Xabi Alonso both dilemma and joy, because all the access needed to bring Real Madrid back to glory has been fully provided by the club, both every new player desired to form a strong squad and other support, of course this makes the pressure even heavier, the club does not want to see the process but demands instant results.
Real Madrid might not be in a rush like we think because they want Xabi Alonso to mange the club for long. However, that does not mean that if Xabi Alonso is not improving the team performance, they wouldn't look for someone else.
Xabi was able to make out something out of nothing in Leverkusen which is one of the main reasons why he was hired by Real Madrid, because they believe that with the set of players that is in the team, they will be successful overtime if Xabi Alonso uses his coaching skills and experience to work on the team.
Real Madrid has invested heavily in building the most ideal squad depth in the world, and they are certainly ambitious to achieve success next season. If Xabi Alonso fails to deliver, his fate will undoubtedly end in dismissal. Therefore, being Real Madrid manager is far from easy, the demands are immense and vastly different from managing Leverkusen.
However, I believe Xabi Alonso seems capable of meeting expectations. The squad depth he possesses will simplify his job. Additionally, several key players who suffered long term injuries last season are now available again, which will make them better next season. Xabi Alonso current task is to accelerate the adaptation process, if that goes smoothly, Real Madrid has a strong chance of making up for their failures last season.
I would like to know how many here share your opinion because siging a high number of players without a comprehensible concept behind it does not mean you are building squad depth. Squad depth is when you can rotate players in and out while maintaining the quality of the game on the same (highest) level. I wouldn't consider Real Madrid to be among the best teams with respect to squad depth and they have some redundancies they should try to get rid of.
The problem with their attackers has been discussed many times because they don't complement each other in an optimal way. There are teams that have built squad depth more effectively and they can rotate quality in for the quality they take out in a game.
Being the Real Madrid is a blessing and a curse of course, it is not allowed to go without winning for two weeks like it was before. Two draws could be enough to get sacked if they come with bad timing.
