South Africa needed only four runs off the last two balls to win but unfortunately the last two balls were two dot balls and the South African batsman gave away a wicket off one of the two balls. However, since New Zealand had performed brilliantly throughout the series, they were worthy of winning this final match and in the end they were able to win. New Zealand was an undefeated team in this tri-series. If we look at the scorecard of the final match, we can see that New Zealand batted first and scored 180 runs and South Africa managed to score 177 runs in 20 overs, as a result of which New Zealand secured a three-run victory over South Africa in the final match.
The South African team started the batting aggressively and they were all about looking for as many runs as possible. The middle order played well according to the situation, and everything was going according to plan, but suddenly in the last over, their batsmen panicked and New Zealand took over with the trophy. However, on the other hand, the New Zealand team bowled so well and both teams deserve to win. Nonetheless, New Zealand were unbeaten in the entire series, and they actually deserve this final.
