Strategies.

Everytime I hear somebody going on about their strategy for a slot game or any other game which is 100% based on probability, I just have to roll my eyes. People seem to be turning strategy into another gambling superstition. And even though it is mathematically impossible for their strategy to work, they still think they can outsmart the casino somehow. I mean, just think of a dice cube. There are six sides therefore the chance to roll a single side is 1/6. And no strategy in the world will change this fact.
I hate those as well. There's no such thing in games such as slots which are solely based on chances and probabilities. It's quite similar to what the OP described, just because you've lost in a game five times in a row, doesn't mean that you'll win the next one. Although statistically it may sound possible, it is not how probabilities work. There's (almost) no way to outsmart a casino, probabilities work in mysterious ways, things aren't as simple as it may sound sometimes, but yet, people still fall a victim to such "strategies" or mentalities.
