The bank is asking for a transaction history, but she does not have one because it was a donation.

What happens then?

In the future, I think it's gonna get much more difficult for banks to trace where exactly the BTC came from.
For most people it just sat there in a hardware wallet and the link to the original purchase is not hard to demonstrate.
But that will change over time, especially when BTC is regularly exchanged between people in different jurisdictions.

It seems his approach is still feasible for now, but it might become more difficult in the future, especially if more countries regulate Bitcoin. This will automatically make it easier for countries to trace their citizens' Bitcoin holdings. This is probably what you are referring to, right?

Besides that, I see that from this case, we can conclude that Bitcoin is still in its early stages, there is still no comprehensive regulation globally or in all countries. And of course, we should be able to understand the situation and what we should do, namely investing in Bitcoin. This might be slightly different from the discussion title, but I think it is important to recognize this and can serve as a benchmark for Bitcoin's future, especially if there is global adoption or regulation, it will be really a something we are waiting for.
