But don't lose hope, I would expect you to make some extensions or build something unique to make forum life easier.

I don't have any idea for new tools, so I am not the one who can suggest to you what to build. I appreciate people like TryNinja and LoyceV who developed some useful tools that we use every day. Or at least once a week.

However, allowing image uploads might require the OP to implement some security measures, such as file validation, and possibly set limits on image size to avoid storage issues, which is another work.
Alternatively, allowing users to insert an avatar via a URL (like from Imgur or TalkImg) might be a simpler and more storage-friendly approach.
