Kompany seems aware of their numerous weaknesses last season: their defense and lack of creativity up front, which led to their failure in the Champions League despite their success in the Bundesliga. This season, Kompany has a bigger target for the Champions League, so he's continuously strengthening his squad, one of which is the signing of Luis Diaz.
I found something about kompany which I found very interesting, when he arrived Bayern Munich last season, eyes were on him to see if he was going to disappoint the team and still keep Bayern in their former state or will be able to elevate the team and so it felt like he was under some sort of pressure but he gradually lowered the pressure and won the Bundesliga in a way that did not seem like he was trying to prove a point and at same time still did not suggest he is incapable, now with the transfer window he is making another strategic moves, he may come up with another unexpected but yet in a calm way, the champions league may be in view still calmly.
