you people are right Sir Alex Ferguson was part of the problem because of the hand picking he did, when choosing a coach you should pick someone that has done very well in his former club not picking someone you know didn't perform well in his former club is very wrong and will only destroy the club, just like what Bayern Leverkusen did right now by picking ten Hag knowing fully well that he didn't do very well in Manchester United are they expecting a miracle to happen now that they have signed him, well let see how it goes.
Sir Alex Ferguson was a great coach and so Manchester United trusted him to be able to pick the right coach that will succeed him but he did not pick by merit but he did it by relationship and that was one of the things that led Manchester United to this state it is the date.
When giving an opportunity or trusted with something you need to leave favoritism out of the way if not you will make the wrong decisions.
What has happened has happened Manchester United can still come back to life if they do the right thing.
It wasn't really Sir Alex Ferguson at fault there, but United and Glazer family again. If you do not like the manager, then you just don't hire them. Hell they were still paying Ferguson 2 million pounds a year for legacy reasons, don't do that, sure he was a great help, but why pay someone when they are not actively helping when they are already retired? In any case, the problem is/was the Glazers family.
Now it's different, now they have this losing culture at the club, they are not a big team anymore, and nobody fears them anymore. What they need, is exactly the opposite of what they are doing right now. They need to overhaul the entire team. No need to get 70 million players, they just need to send 4 people each transfer period, and get 3 more ones. That way, they can send 12 people in one summer-winter-summer period, and get 9 instead. Could change the whole squad nearly.
As far as I know, Man United no longer pays Alex Ferguson and the decision was initiated by Jim Ratcliffe for cost-saving purposes. I don't think Alex Ferguson did much wrong, he gave his opinion and recommendations, but the decision was still made by Glazer and Jim Ratcliffe. Besides, whoever the coach is and however great the person is, but if Glazer still controls everything, it will not be easy for the coach to bring Man United back to glory again.
Making Manchester United even better requires full support, including the vision of an owner who truly loves football. While Glazer only sees football as a business interest for himself. So that's the reason why he is reluctant to sell his shares, because they are still profitable annually.
