Luiz Enrique has always been a good coach for Paris Saint Germain, the only problem he faced was not being able to win the Champions League but last season he broke the barrier and won the club's first ever Champions League title and also won the treble. PSG has indeed conquered Europe last season and became one of the most formidable teams right now. PSG has dominated the French Ligue 1 and looking at the structure of the team currently, one can say that they still have the potentials to emerge the league's title winners in this upcoming season.
Last season became a very special momentum for PSG because they managed to make rapid progress with Luis Enrique even though previously the coach was also quite difficult to present the Champions League title. This success makes PSG stronger and now they are one of the teams that are very calculated in Europe because every time a team that is able to offer titles in the first Champions League will be part of other strong teams such as Manchester City.
Next season will be far more difficult because defending the title is not easy because there are many challenges that will be faced by PSG. For competition in Ligue 1 I am not so worried because there are almost no other teams that are able to break the dominance of PSG and overall the players they have are much better.
Trouncing majority of the teams in France is obviously expected from a team like PSG. The main question should be whether they are able to replicate the same in Europe. As is always the case with Champions League title defenders, coping with the pressure to repeat will be a challenge that this team under Enrique will now face. Provided that he is able to pull this off, he would be counted in the list of greatest managers in modern football, given that he has already done it with Barcelona once, back in 2015, and then PSG in 2025.
Ligue 1 is essentially the territory of PSG, but what would be essential is their success in defending the Champions League. Now, it would be quite interesting to see how Enrique is able to continue this momentum and get the best out of his team.
