To be very honest with you, not everyone have successfully become wealthy through Bitcoin because basically that wasn't what it was made for. Yes, Bitcoin has created wealth for many people who were early investor and held their Bitcoin till date. There ae several factors that influences the price of Bitcoin and if you dont have good knowledge you will not succeed. And yeah, understanding Bitcoin doesn't guarantee profit.
