Wait, Southampton! And all these while I thought he was still at Arsenal because I knew Ramsdale as an Arsenal goalkeeper. Wow, seem s like I have been left behind or I actually didn't follow up with what was happening with him. Yeah, I agree with you, he was actually good at Arsenal despite his ups and downs in the Emirates. Now Newcastle has got for themselves a good goalkeeper. Hope he plays better than before for his new team.
Many people actually thought he was an Arsenal goalkeeper because they thought the deal to Southampton was a Loan deal, but was actually a permanent deal to club worth around €25m or so then. Although Southampton were poor last season Ramsdale was seriously one of their few standout players in the last campaign, seriously I wasn’t surprised seeing him being linked with a premier league club after Southampton dropped to the championship. He is a very good addition to the Newcastle team because their first choice goalkeeper Nick Pope hasn’t been reliable of recent. He is already old and with the reoccurring injures it is best they get a new goalkeeper.
This deal also favours Ramsdale because this is the second or third time he will be with a club that has dropped down to the championship and he gets signed by a premier league club, that’s how standout he as been. With his performance last season it will be easy for him to actually pip Pope to been the number and also getting signed permanently. This will boost his chances also for been selected for England national team.
Funny, Manchester City has only had just one bad season in over a decade now and all of a sudden Arsenal is now superior to Manchester City in recent time, like how? Manchester City still stands a better chance than Arsenal and if they full ly come to form, then definitely they will be the favourites to the title, it's been proven over time that Pep's City in full form has no rivals in the league.
Funny how Manchester City is similar to one of Arsenal’s best seasons that shows what Manchester City have build in the past decade. Seriously I don’t see why Manchester City is rated lower than Arsenal in term of favourite for the champions league next season. Personally I feel like Manchester city current squad are even better than that of Arsenal’s. For me the two clubs looking to compete with Liverpool is Chelsea, Manchester City and then Arsenal in that order
Seriously, if not for this news here, I would still be thinking that Ramsdale is still an Arsenal player, I never for once knew that he was finally sold by Arsenal to Southampton and now Southampton has now sold him to Newcastle.
It's not that far again and we will see this Arsenal team that people have been rating highly despite their numerous seasons of disappointment. Just one bad season of Pep at City and all of a sudden some people are dismissing his team. They will learn the hard way, is it not the same Arsenal that we all know.
