Why I Believe Small Bitcoin Holders Will Play a Key Role After the Next Halving

Since early 2024, we’ve seen a noticeable trend: large institutions are accumulating BTC at an increasing rate. At the same time, the number of "shrimp wallets" (holding less than 1 BTC) continues to rise steadily.

In my opinion, after the upcoming 2024 halving, small holders will have a more important role than many expect, for three main reasons:

1. Network decentralization
The more small holders there are, the more decentralized Bitcoin remains. Power is less concentrated, which helps preserve Bitcoin’s resistance to censorship and centralized control.

2. Adoption psychology
When everyday people hold Bitcoin, it becomes more socially acceptable and normalized, both as a store of value and potentially even as a currency in the future.

3. Impact on circulating supply
Many small holders are long-term believers who rarely sell. These "HODLers" reduce the available supply on the market, increasing scarcity even more post-halving.

What do you think?
Will the increasing number of small holders truly have an impact in the long run, or will they always be overpowered by whales and institutions?
