I heard someone saying that the Federal government should have used the money to develop the country I just laughed please let's change our mindset.
To we that's a big amount of money that the government are giving to our players that put the nation on the map but to them that isn't big. Most of them make more than that monthly because they're being paid weekly. BBN that's just a game show gives their winners more than that amount and other participants get something worth close to that amount too. The money isn't big but the government did put in some efforts in encouraging the girls to make us proud the next time they find themselves in similar situations. The reaction of people to this gift should tell you how people really are because irrespective of what you do, people will always complain therefore just do you always.
You made a good point here, ordinarily, some may think the money is much, but anyone that is used to what these players are earning weekly and then convert what the government gave them to USD, we are going to see that its nothing much at all, not even more than a weekly earning or two weeks earning they make from foreign clubs, i only wish that they all utilized the money for something good and long lasting, because i learnt that some of these players at old age lack money to finance their self after being struck by ailment and no one cares about donating for them once they are no more playing.
Good financial management and investment is very important in everyone life no matter how big or little yoir pay is. Some footballers don't plan for their future after leaving the field. This is one of yhe reasons why some of them get broke and seek for help when they are hit with ailment. I also hope that they use the money wisely no matter how little it is. Footballers are the highest pay earners worldwide. Our footballers should focus more on investment.
