To we that's a big amount of money that the government are giving to our players that put the nation on the map but to them that isn't big. Most of them make more than that monthly because they're being paid weekly. BBN that's just a game show gives their winners more than that amount and other participants get something worth close to that amount too. The money isn't big but the government did put in some efforts in encouraging the girls to make us proud the next time they find themselves in similar situations. The reaction of people to this gift should tell you how people really are because irrespective of what you do, people will always complain therefore just do you always.
I draw the line from your last statement. As a government official or even as an individual, whatever you do people will criticise your action and likewise some will hail your action. To be sincere, these ladies deserve every incentives to some extent for making it to that stage and even bringing home the trophy. Our sport ministry is underfunded and even their pay is not that good compared to what other parts of the world are paying their athletes. Despite training under inadequate materials and all odds, they came out victorious. It'll be hypocritical to say they were over rewarded for such sacrifice. Majority of people criticising are just bitter and pained they're not opportune to be in their shoes.
