Here is another example on why we really need to be quiet in our social media and not tell about our crypto investment as we might be the next target.

~snip~

In this case, streamer and content creator Kaitlyn 'Amouranth' Siragusa has been the target by this criminals as they force her to reveal where in the stash of his crypto. It's good thing that she has the presence of mind to bring the criminals to his husband who is waiting for a ambush as he was able to hit one of the assailant and husband and wife escape and the criminals was caught later.

Fortunately, crypto ownership is something that depend solely of us! In other words, the wallet owner is the only one who can move funds and is also responsible for it.

So, unlike a bank account, where there are other companies that could help you or be held liable in the event of a theft, with crypto its not possible to reverse or block a transfer in the event of a theft.

So, the basic and most crucial thing is that the owner of these cryptos has the prudence to keep it safe. Understand that security doesn't just depend on having a strong password, but also on keeping it confidential. I understand that they were influencers and they are somehow more exposed, but there's a clear difference between supporting cryptos and praising them and revealing how rich they've made you.

And for regular users, its worth remembering that in addition to avoiding publicly discussing the amount of crypto you hold, we shouldn't share screenshots of wallets, transactions, or profits.... If you need to talk about cryptos, always do so anonymously, just like we do here on the forum.
