I don't understand what you mean by newbies need to know the difference between bitcoin and cryptocurrency, you're making it seem like bitcoin is not a cryptocurrency whereas it is, regardless of what you think or how any newbie wants to feel it won't change the fact that bitcoin falls under the category of a cryptocurrency infact all digital currencies are cryptocurrencies.
Since you dont understand I will make it even more clearer now. When I said newbies should understand that Bitcoin is not crypto, I am not telling them to deny the technical definition of what it is. What I want them to understand is that the term cryptocurrency has become so diluted by scam altcoin project in the digital space, rug pulls, and people now see Bitcoin in the same category, making people believe its also a scam whereas Bitcoin protocol contains qualities which no other digital asset can replicate.
Just because a plane made with paper and an areophane flies means you can keep them in the same category of air transportation. One is efficient and the other is inefficient.
