Leaving gambling Alone is not something that people can achieve easily because when an individual has graduated to an addict it becomes a problem to the individual which cannot be gotten over by running away from gambling because eventually the person will come back to gambling because it's not easy leaving gambling just like that, the solutions remains therapy and self discipline which will has to be strictly followed
Leaving on gambling isn't something that happens in an instant or even overnight especially for those gamblers who're already gambling for a very long time already.
Walking away with gambling isn't the problem, but the fact that they can't stop themselves from gambling is the problem. The feeling of urge that they want to gamble for various reasons. There are some gamblers who don't really want to gamble anymore, but once they saw somebody gambling, they'll feel the urge and it triggers again and after a few days, they'll go back to gamble again. Aside from therapy, some solutions are the support systems around the gambler. Without these 2, it's very easy for gambler to go back to his/her old habits.
Recovering from gambling addiction takes time, and will require a huge change on the person especially on the mental aspect. It's hard, but it's possible.
I don't know how drug, alcohol, and gambling addictions are treated in other countries, but I know how treatment is provided here in my country. In my country, a gambling addict is taken to a treatment center, where the patient is placed under a closed regime. They enter and cannot leave until they are cured. They can only receive visits from relatives and friends at the treatment center; they cannot go home to visit people.
The addict's relatives or the addict are required to pay all the costs incurred by the center for the addict's treatment. Several doctors treat the addicts. They are also not allowed to have a phone with internet access, computers, or devices with internet access. People who comply with treatment are cured, but those who interrupt treatment because their relatives think they can't keep the addict at the rehabilitation center for too long are not cured.
