Or is that because of this ? If this is the case, then the total merit number of july in my local thead should also decrease. 
What do you mean by the "total merit number"? Do you mean the total merit the user in question has earned so far?According to the latest update of DdmrDdmr's merit dashboard, Mahiyammahi has earned 198 merit. That's 38 merit less than his current merit which is shown in his profile.
I know how much merit Mahiyammahi has received and I also know that the user's merit does not decrease. -_-
