Firstly, massive respect to the Super Falcons for clinching the WAFCON title. The girls played with heart and showed true class. A proud moment for Nigeria, no doubt. But something keeps bothering me... During that final, lasers were visibly pointed at our players, you could see it clearly in several photos and videos that's been circulating the media space. That kind of distraction is dangerous and completely against fair play.

What’s more worrying is that despite all the noise from fans, coaches, and even media, CAF hasn’t said a single thing about it yet(at least the last time I checked). No official statement, no disciplinary move have been made, just complete silence. This is the African football governing body we’re talking about, and the whole thing happened right in a continental final.

So now I’m wondering, are they planning to just sweep it under the carpet?

The Super Falcons have been consistently dominant in African football which is one to be very proud of. On the other hand the use of lasers in the stadium should be considered and banned, it is not the first time I have seen such acts though. They have always been used in top tournaments even in the champions league and world cup, it is becoming a norm for fans and should be banned.
Having won a record 11 Women's Africa Cup of Nations championships, I have to admit that the Super Falcons are a formidable force in African football.  Their domination is evidence of Nigeria's commitment and plenty of football skill.  The use of lasers in stadiums raises legitimate concerns since laser pointers have the potential to temporarily blind and distract officials, players, and fans.  FIFA and other regulatory organisations have taken action to stop these kinds of situations.  Strict security measures, including as bag checks and laser pointer bans, have been put in place at several venues.  Stadiums may reduce disturbance and guarantee a fun, secure event for everybody concerned by prohibiting laser pointers or implementing stringent security measures.
