Manchester United deserve it with their performance, they were the better side in this series and we have to congratulate them but can they still bring this very performance, this same energy to the EPL when next campaign begins? In as much as they played against same EPL clubs and won all 3 games I still find it hard to believe that they can replicate same display or even more when it matters, it won't be like we saw, but can Manchester United start the season with a win?
The Manchester United coach was very modest in signings in this transfer window. I don't know why, but I don't see them with this squad being able to at least finish in 4th place. In my opinion, they will at most compete for 7th to 10th place. Winning this competition will not influence their performance in the Premier League. See this for example:
3 games, 2 wins, 1 draw, 8 goals scored, and 4 goals conceded.
The problem with this is that they were playing against weak opponents. They were supposed to win without conceding many goals. At the very least, they should have won all 3 games and conceded at least 1 goal. But they performed averagely against these three opponents. I know that last season Everton gave many big teams in the Premier League a headache, but if Manchester United wants to be a great team, they need to beat big teams and win big titles again.
