What surprised me was the rate back then.. "up to 0.1 BTC per month for 50 posts", that’s huge if you think about today’s value. I even checked
one member’s wallet (ganabb) and saw an unspent balance close to 1 BTC. Hopefully, he’s just holding it and hasn’t completely forgotten about that money.
This is crazy. Many people made a lot of money from this forum, but most spent it almost instantly or held it for a very short time. I know some forum members still make a lot of money. But I am curious if some forum members earned money from Cloudbet, Stake, and other old signature campaigns, and they still hold it like the user you mentioned. There is a possibility that the user lost control of his forum account, and he does not have access to his wallet. Otherwise, they could have moved it to another wallet.
We never knew if they intentionally kept their balance in these wallets. But usually, people consolidate their TX after a while and move the funds to a safe or cold wallet.
You could be right because there are so many dormant wallets that the owners might have lost access to due to forgotten passwords or seed phrases. There are so many things happening we might not understand especially seeing huge Bitcoin in a particular wallet without knowing that it was lost few years ago.
The forum has been a good place to make money and people are taking advantage by holding for as long as possible. Signature campaigns that pays using Bitcoin rate tend to make participants more profitable if they hold for as long as possible.
