The term gambling fever and gambling addiction is actually different. But what OP mentioned are most from addicted behaviour, e.g. chasing loss, feeling restless, gambling as a escape, etc. Having a fever won't feel that even on literally a fever.
The term gambling fever is a term more like the symptoms of temporary addiction. That even for an occasional gambler will feel those like a temporary excitement or rush around gambling this were usually short and fades once the event or stimulus ends. Those are gambling fever based on research,
As I look at the explanation of the two terms, gambling fever and gambling addiction, the distinction between the two is the control. In gambling fever, the person experiencing it still have some control, so I think you had it explained when you said it was just a temporary rush of emotion and fades away as the excitement diminishes.
Okay, what is that difference? Because after reading the topic at least three times, all I could think of was a gambling addict, nothing else. Unless by “gambling fever” you mean something temporary. Please explain further if you can. I believe everyone here wants to better understand your point of view.
I have the same question but as I looked at it, the difference between the two is:
Gambling Fever : Temporary and fades away after some time, the person experiencing this still have some control. and is not a health condition since it fades away eventually.
Gambling Addiction: Gambling disorder, permanent if not treated, a health condition, the person experience have an uncontrol urge to gamble.
