@OP, what is the difference between gambling fever and gambling addiction? From your post, I don't see any difference or any unique difference of things that have been discussed here before as a causes of addiction and how to prevent it. Both are too similar, if not the same.

From what I understand... gambling addiction is what we already have: an mental disorder where the person truly has a compulsion to gamble constantly, and this brings several negative consequences... its when the gambler completely loses control over their bets, suffering financial losses by gambling more than they should and also social, family or professional losses by giving up everything else to spend all their time gambling (even if they don't suffer financial losses).

I've come across a lot of things about the term "Gambling Fever," so I don't think it's an official illness. But from what I've seen, it's not technically a disease... it's just a momentary gambling habit, something fleeting (albeit intense) that can occur during major events like the World Cup or in jackpot lotteries. The latter doesn't always involve significant financial loss or any addiction, but the gambler sacrifices time and other activities to participate and bet on something specific.
