Gambling Fever and addiction is related but they differ in terms of duration, severity and even psychological impact that it has on the individual again gambling addiction could even be seen as a health condition because it's could be seen as a gambling disorder while gambling gambling fever is not
I am not sure where the literature you used for the description that distinguishes gambling fever from gambling addiction comes from. I see both as the same. It is possible that gambling fever is a symptom that is closer to gambling addiction.
A gambler who feels the need to gamble to make money, even to the point of forcing situations to continue gambling and fulfill their desires, can already be considered to have a gambling addiction. If a gambler can no longer hold back from gambling, their common sense has been defeated. Continuing to gamble will certainly not be good.
