Therapy is a waste of time when you are dealing with gambling addiction although some people think that it's a great way to get started on your journey of recovery but I don't really think that's true because gambling is a self made addiction or fever is self made and it can be stopped when you are determined to make sure it stops. The dopamine rush and all that doesn't have a mind of it's own, it can be controlled at any point
You don't have to make such conclusions. If going through gambling therapy didn't help you or someone you know, it should just be seen as a waste of time. Many people have found it helpful and will gladly recommend it to others. I know that addicts should be willing to fight for their freedom but some people needs assistance and therapist could be helpful.
I don't see any difference as well in gambling fever from the context to that of gambling addiction, had it been he was able to say that gambling lost fever or something similar, which we know that some may feels bad and react towards having any loss of it's kind, when they never expect that to come, then it gives them a kind of shrinkage towards gambling and they gets timidsin taking more steps to gamble for such disappointment.
I just did a quick search on the difference between gambling addiction and fever. There was no striking difference. But OP claimed that the difference is in the time frame. I guess gambling addiction last longer than the fever. For me, there are no difference it's just change of word ( addiction to fever).
