^ I don't think O'Malley will be fighting any killers in 135 for the time being. Lol.
^ Yup and the crowd doesn't really want to see a rematch between Dvalishvili and Nurmagomedov rn... Nurmagomedov needs one spectacular win from one of the top 10 guys then another one against one of the top 5 guys. That will surely bring back the wind behind his sails aka momentum. And it's a good set up as the crowd will find him deserving for a title shot again.
And this rematch doesn't make sense precisely because Dvalishvili won and was very convincing. Nurmagomedov simply lost badly. So, the one who needs to prove himself, as you rightly said, is Nurmagomedov. And I believe it would take something like two or three fights to be eligible to fight for the title again.
Yeah... But Umar Nurmagomedov has an excuse tho as he broke his right hand in R1 of that fight. So he'll prolly try and ask the UFC if O'Malley got a rematch because he had a hip injury then why not him who got a broken hand?
But I don't think the UFC will budge tho as Umar Nurmagomedov isn't as big of a draw as O'Malley.
The difference is that O'Malley has charisma and colorful hair. Umar has the charisma of a door. He's a good fighter, but selling the title fight will largely depend on the opponent. He makes up for it in the fight, but not in ticket sales.
