From my understanding, Arsenal doesn't necessarily have to sell in order to re-sign Eze [they didn't sign anyone in the previous January transfer window and based on structures of the deals, I don't think they'll be paying all of the transfer fees in a single year]... The only reason Berta is prioritizing outgoings is not to leave some of our players in limbo [e.g., Viera, Nelson, Zinchenko, Lokonga and maybe Trossard (if the right offer comes)].
- IMO, Trossard has been more effective than Martinelli in the past two seasons, but because of his age & recent injuries, they might try to sell him instead.
If Trossard or Martinelli should leave before signing Eze then we should consider the deal uncertain, the team knows their best player reason they didn’t give out any brilliant player out except an end of contract either loan related business. Honestly if Trossard should leave it will definitely affect the team obviously Trossard had more impact compared to Martinelli even if Trossard plays during the second half his performance is top. There’s no legit update about Eze at the moment, I read a news on X concerning an agreement related post indicating the fee and payment but, I’m yet to confirm the source, I guess the deal is likely unpredictable at the moment.
Let us be straightforward with ourselves and tell the truth, Asernal as a clubs doesn't have to sell off any player with the hope of getting a better offer, knowing very well how Asernal performance in the last concluded season went, at least their performed near excellent so what the need to scatter the already formed team, for me injury and age are not really a basis to sell an old good player.
