..while Apple store was almost clean from those type of scams (every once in a while fake eallet would appear) as its much harder and more expensive to actually get an app there on Apple store.
Other thread has video interviewing scammed guy, and here he says, he trusted the sparrow wallet "mobile version" available on app store thinking apple vets these apps (watch the video linked in aforementioned thread at 4:03 mark), and this blind trust costed him good.
It's not a new thing that people trust apple's security, but better do one's own due diligence than trusting third party blindly.

I'm curious how these kinds of apps in the App Store/Play Store can't be easily taken down and easily pass and allowed to be in app stores, as far as I know, before you can publish some apps in these app stores, there are some verifications needed.
Scammers likely comply whatever vertifications are needed at first but once in, they proceed with their malicious intent.
