The U.S. now holds over 200K BTC in a national reserve. Pakistan launched its own reserve in May 2025. El Salvador continues daily accumulation and now holds ~6,000 BTC.
Are we witnessing the start of a global Bitcoin arms race?
A turning point — or a silent takeover?

The 6,258 Bitcoins in El Salvador's Bitcoin Strategic Reserve alone are constantly updated as one Bitcoin is added to El Salvador's Bitcoin Strategic Reserve every day. The amount of Bitcoin held in strategic reserves in any other country has been mainly confiscated from various criminal organizations or individuals. It is not possible to know the exact number of Bitcoins seized for criminal or illegal activities. Moreover, the United States is holding 200k Bitcoins. Is this an accurate number? A few days ago, the US government sold some of the Bitcoins seized from criminal activities, the exact number of which has not yet been disclosed.
