I still remember what Jose Mourinho once said, where he said that the best achievement in his coaching career was “taking Manchester United to second place.” And that happened in the 2017/18 season where Man United finished just below Manchester City. This statement makes me wonder, what really happened to Manchester United? How can a coach with extraordinary achievements say that his best achievement is bringing Manchester United to second place. This is something that shows how difficult it is for a coach to be able to bring this team to a better position.
Ruben Amorin will now have a full season with Manchester United, so let's see what Amorin can do this season. This season will really be a proving ground for him.
This season will provide Ruben Amorin a good opportunity to prove his skills, it will be interesting to see how far he can take a team that finished 15th last season. In preseason matches, United had good time against West Ham and Bournemouth but played a draw against Everton. We know that in EPL the competition is at its peak and team has to perform exceptionally well in all games to finish among top teams. Although United has good preseason but their real strength will be seen in upcoming season.
Amorim is a talented manager, but we can’t see that now till the season starts, but with the way his preparation is going, seriously, he may make things possible for Manchester United next season because the way I can see that he is also preparing ahead of next season. However, Amorim is going to do well in his coaching career at Manchester United because he won’t want the past to happen again.
As we all know, Manchester United have been experimenting hard for the past many seasons now in the Premier League, which is not supposed to be like that for a team like Manchester United, so definitely Amorim will want to change the narrative this coming season.
But with talented it all ends. He came from being the coach who wins all games to a team that loses all games. Everybody wants to discuss his talents and how he will be able to bring Manchester United some good times, but it is not what is going on. When will everyone realize that the team is in trouble and they need someone to do a full turn over. I don't think Manchester United will have a chance to play with good hopes against Liverpool.
