It seems the Gunners are ending their friendly games with a disappointing performance after losing to Villarreal 2-3, it seems things are not going their way, not like they planned at all. After the game I'm having this feeling that maybe today or tomorrow the critics will be much because what many are expecting of Viktor Gyökeres is not what they're seeing from the player, a disappointing display from him in the first half;
Viktor Gyökeres in the first half vs Villarreal: 🇸🇪
▪️0 goals
▪️0 assists
▪️0 shots on target
▪️0 shots off target
▪️0 key passes
▪️1/1 dribble attempt
▪️3 passes
▪️2/3 ground duels won
For me I feel is not yet time to see what this guy is made of and it will only be rival fans who are going hard on him (Viktor Gyökeres), let the new season come and let's see if he's worth it or not but for now let the man breath.
There are a few things Arsenal need to improve, but I don't think it's a problem because this is just a trial match. Regardless of the result, I think Arteta already knows what needs to be done and the tactics that need to be emphasized in official matches. From the way the match unfolded, they tried different tactics, especially during player substitutions, which were intended to test the players' readiness.
As for Gyokeres, he still has plenty of time, and it’s too early to criticize him, especially since this is just the beginning of his time with the new squad. I won’t view this as a weakness for Gyokeres, let alone consider him poor, because, after all, it’s not yet time to criticize him for his performance, even if the statistics aren’t particularly good.
This is just a friendly match, and I believe there will be plenty of time in the future to see how he develops in the new season.
