Only a few were involved in Bitcoin because of its decentralization and privacy feature in the past, and few of them still know the importance of privacy and protecting it, and only a few of the new users consider it important.

There are people that consider History as a story and not a lesson.
They don't consider it important because they are existing in a time where compulsory KYC feels normal
Environment usually shape our perception
In the coming decades, if nothing is done people would praise KYC and not even consider it a violation of privacy
Why? Because it has become normal.

There was some element of privacy in CEX but now it is not again. Now you add your KYC in the level one but it was not that in those days. It was in level two KYC was asked fully. Someone made a comment on the gambling sector that, he can't use the Tor browser to access casinos again. And I believed all those were from the regulatory.
This is why I'm surprised when people call the government dumb
They know what they doing, subtle and slowly is most effective in countering resistance to change
Now compulsory AML is usually enforced in $1000 soon they would go lower and lower
Till it becomes a norm.
