Sure. I'm well aware... Many other people (including myself) mined some coins early on to have lost them.  An it would be fair to say that in 2013 someone who tossed their keys lost the value of the coins at the time.  What they didn't do is lose the value of the coins *now*.  The failure to have achieved those gains now is a product of failing to (re-)invest after realizing that your initial investment was lost.
