It seems the Gunners are ending their friendly games with a disappointing performance after losing to Villarreal 2-3, it seems things are not going their way, not like they planned at all. After the game I'm having this feeling that maybe today or tomorrow the critics will be much because what many are expecting of Viktor Gyökeres is not what they're seeing from the player, a disappointing display from him in the first half;
Viktor Gyökeres in the first half vs Villarreal: 🇸🇪
▪️0 goals
▪️0 assists
▪️0 shots on target
▪️0 shots off target
▪️0 key passes
▪️1/1 dribble attempt
▪️3 passes
▪️2/3 ground duels won
For me I feel is not yet time to see what this guy is made of and it will only be rival fans who are going hard on him (Viktor Gyökeres), let the new season come and let's see if he's worth it or not but for now let the man breath.
You know the funny thing with the English media? They would want to paint all manner of stories that would make a player look like a failure. I mean they did it when Kai havertz first came to the club, kept making headlines with his inability to perform and meet up but when he picked up form? The praises started flowing in.
I believe that like every other player who has had a hard time fitting in immediately at their new club Victor Gyokores isn't exempt and it's not like he was the only player signed but more attention is on him because of the fuss and drama associated with signing him, and the fact that he's a striker and that's something the Gunners have lacked in a while.
Let's give these new guys time before we start choking them with expectations. Besides it's not like it's just one player that can bring victory to a team but the collective efforts of the other players as well.
