I feel like the beginner and help board seems weird without a mod assigned to it like others, look the imagine below. (If no mod is assigned to it specifically, at least a few words description like others will fill up that gap).
IIRC it has been the same since I first registered on the forum, including on the Meta board. Of course, when you report a thread or post, it will eventually be handled by the global moderators.
Also, I feel like some simple comments or post in the beginner and help board and bitcoin discussion board, needs 1 or 2 merits which they may not be getting because no merit source is assigned specifically to each of this board since you gave new merit source, some needs to be more concentrated on a specific board that will make a little bit of sense.
Merit distribution still depends on the discretion and standards of the merit sources and other users. However, I personally think that merit sources should have as a requirement, a minimum number of sent merits per month, and per X board, in order to keep their merit source badge active.
