The U.S. now holds over 200K BTC in a national reserve.
Are you sure these coins (regardless of what the correct number is) are held as "national reserve" and not just as regular seized assets where the federal government seizes from criminals and eventually auctions when the court process is over?
The difference is fundamental...
The is not even sure otherwise he would have added a source to backup his statement on US $200k holdings in reserve. The US we know won't keep it a secret if they have to buy bitcoin for national reserve just in same way they didn't go secretive on the bitcoins they have been seizing for some alleged criminal involvements. When we talking about countries intentionally buying and stacking bitcoin as national reserve and not by accident it should be El Salvador and Pakistan for now.

I guess this is the closest article that can point out their claims https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/03/establishment-of-the-strategic-bitcoin-reserve-and-united-states-digital-asset-stockpile/

Also as what I know US is not actively buying Bitcoin, but rather they collect those Bitcoin they seize from criminals and use that for their what they say Bitcoin Reserve. For sure many people are waiting for those kind of announcement, since their announcement of buying would provably hype lots of people following this situation.
