Making over $50,000,000 per year as an NBA player when most people in the country have no idea who you are is crazy…
I'm thinking why. I guess it's the fact that the Spurs are in need of a reliable shooting guard, and he's the best one that they have so they don't want him to let go. Castle at the 1, Fox at 2, and Wemby at the paint. Correct me on this one, but this is a dangerous "Big 3" for me. What they need right now is a right set of role players, chemistry, and a bit more of a development. I would say that the future of the Spurs are bright now, and I will not be surprised if one day, they'll be a title contender in the West just like what the Thunder did where they jumped from being a play-in team, to top seed. Let's also not forget that a player having a max deal doesn't have any Player Option on their final year, so most probably, he'll stay as a Spur until the '29-'30 season.
