This is the only season and chance he has to prove himself, while he was handed over Manchester United as the head coach mid season, Erik ten Hag records at the beginning was narrated as reason why he didn't perform too well but time around he is getting new signings according to his game style and everyone are watching waiting to monitor his progress.

Preseason are just friendly, nothing much to be excited as teams are using this games to try out new strategies if its fit to impact in matches when the season starts.
This season is not just a pressure for Amorim but for other teams especially Arteta. Although Amorim is more serious especially after finishing 15th on the table last season. He has gotten a better attacking prowess with the recent addition to the team and hopefully they can compete, and we may know if he is the right one for United.

The matches that are played now, from pre-season, are just friendlies, nothing exciting
Furthermore, these are matches that make little sense, given that many coaches experiment with things they otherwise couldn't do.
different modules, different formations, different strategies
things you can't experience in the league or cup
so there is no point in considering them

Sometimes I don’t really consider the pre-season performance from the teams as the performance we should expect from them in the main competition because, seriously, the pre-season is not that very serious. From what I have seen, some clubs did not take it seriously; the way they are performing in the main competition is not the same, and that is why I don’t see it as something serious.

I feel like the pre-season is just a competition to test the clubs or prepare ahead of the competition. Like last season, some clubs' performance was great in the pre-season, while they disappointed in the main competition, the same as some clubs that did not do well in the pre-season and surprised everyone in the competition.
