Even before Alonso arrival, Rodrigo had been lined up already for potential sale because at Real Madrid he was the guy who the club actually felt was not needed. I kind of see Rodrigo in the same shoes as Benzema in the early years of his Madrid career most importantly during the combination with Ronaldo and Bale. Benzema then was seeing as the weak link even with his immense talent then, many fans were even asking the club to sell then, I could remember some fans saying Zidane plays him just because he was a fellow French man then. But he stayed and Waited his time which was after the other duo have left and he guided the club to some titles and also scoop many personal accolades himself.

How does this relate to Rodrigo is that he is in the Shadow of Vinicius, Mbappe and even Bellingham that fans do not see his ability anymore. For me is as much talented as this three guys but he gets less protected nor equal attention. Last season he was the one booted out of the team to accommodate Mbappe and this season it is looking more like it will also be same thing again. For me I personally think if he gets same treatment as others or opportunity to showcase himself he will definitely deliver but with the resources at Madrid and the limitations to play everyone I don’t think he can get that time now.

Personally I will say he needs to move to another team which is at least close to Real Madrid in terms of global standards, one team i definitely think will suit Rodrigo more at the moment is the Liverpool team. If Liverpool finds it hard to get Isak they will definitely be going after other wingers and seriously Rodrigo definitely be a worthy addition to their squad
