Football can be really unpredictable as we already know and the fact that Inter's exceptional performance against Barcelona didn't translate to the final just like most people expected made the outcome even more thrilling to some and to others disappointing.
While it was disappointing in one side, it's great that you've also learner from your experience and can reflect on what actually went wrong. At least next time, it'll enable you make more reasonable and informed choices when making your predictions. Football is full of surprises, which is why we shouldn't be overconfident with whatever predictions we're making, regardless of how certain it may be, at least this would help one make more realistic choices.
Football is really full of surprises. Sometimes I don’t even like too much prediction because it disappoints at the end of the day. However, Inter Milan’s performance is very good if we look at it from last season. As for Barcelona, what you said is right. You know, many people predicted that they may reach the final stage, and you can see that with the way Barcelona’s performance went last season, but at the end, they later failed to do that.
Normally sometimes a team you didn’t expect to win some matches or perform to some extent is the one you will see that is making a surprise move that no one expects while people are already making predictions on the team they thought would win.
Majority of people underestimated PSG in the beginning of the competition. PSG struggled to their last match in the group stage and they have to win that match to enable them qualify for the play off. They became bold and confident in themselves.
Nobody saw them to be the favorite even till the finals. It was when the match started that we saw a different thing entirely to the opposite of our predictions. Barcelona super form ended in the semifinals with a strong fight against Inter but got defeated.
