I think they haven't made a post but supposing he was to be a DT member, can we tell if his reputation years ago will still remain the same now? what if he has a questionable character now and has ulterior motives for coming back

It doesn't matter
DT Member = Someone whose feedback will be visible in the user's profile by default.
Trusted Member = Someone who received positive feedback from DT member.
Many confuse these two terms, add someone into their trust list because they are a trusted member but it is supposed to be based on how accurate their feedback on others.
