Rodrygo is in difficult position at Real Madrid because of strong competition from star players like Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappé. To develop his career further he needs to play more and many believe he should move to another top team to get that chance. However Real Madrid has set very high price for him which makes it hard for other interested clubs to afford him leaving him in tough spot where he is too good to be substitute but can not easily find new home.
It is not only that Real has set a very high price for Rodrygo but also that Rodrygo does not want to leave the club. He has repeatedly said that he has gone through a very long journey and put in a lot of effort to earn his place in the team and now he does not want to give up and leave so easily. It is clear that with the arrival of the young Garcia he will face greater competition but I think it is important for him to stay at Real. We will see how this season goes if he spends most of the time on the bench then I think he will decide on his own to change clubs.
Despite being a great player, Rodrygo performance last season was not as good as the 23/24 season. Considering that his performance may gradually decline, the team management expectations for him may have started to decrease. New coach Alonso may have started reviewing the statistics of each player in the team and is thinking about making new adjustments to the team. His performance in the Club World Cup competition was not that impressive so the team management may be interested in keeping him on the side line for most of the next season. If the gossip that are going around about leaving the team are true then he should choose the best option and leave Real Madrid.
